Buying and selling rural property
What kinds of rural property are listed on O.N.O Rural?
Farms and grazing country, cropping and mixed-farming land, dairy properties, lifestyle blocks and hobby farms, and rural land for development. Listings come straight from agents and owners across every state, from small blocks through to large-scale operations.
How do I enquire about a property?
Open the property to see the photos, price, land size, location and full detail, then enquire direct. Your enquiry goes to the agent or owner listing it, and you arrange inspections and negotiate the sale between yourselves.
Can I list my own rural property?
Yes. Create a free O.N.O Rural account and choose List a property. Add the title, category and type, the price or Contact agent, the land size and features, the location and your photos. We check every new listing before it goes live.
How much does it cost to list a property?
Creating an account and listing is straightforward from your account. You deal with buyers direct, so there are no buyer-side commissions taken by O.N.O Rural on a private enquiry; you and the buyer agree the terms of any sale between you.
How do I search property by location?
Use the state filter to narrow to the region you are buying in, then browse by price and size. Each listing shows its town, state and map location so you can see exactly where the country is.
Are the properties for sale, lease or agistment?
Most are for sale, but you will also find grazing country offered for lease and agistment. The listing shows the status and, for a rental, the period, so you know what is on offer before you enquire.
What should I look for when buying rural property?
Beyond price and land size, weigh up the carrying capacity, reliable water and rainfall, the soil types, fencing and yards, sheds and machinery, the house and any secondary dwellings, and access and distance to town, saleyards and services. It also pays to check what is included in the sale, from stock and plant to water licences and any standing crops. Each O.N.O Rural listing sets out these details, and you can arrange your own inspection before you commit to a purchase.
