Fees
Free to list. You only pay on auctions.
Everything on O.N.O Rural is free, except one thing: when you sell a lot at auction, the seller pays a small success fee. No sale, no fee. And buyers always pay $0.

The only fee
Auction success fee
Charged to the seller, only on head or gear that actually sells. Buyers pay no premium and no platform fee. Every figure below is exclusive of GST.
| What you're selling | Seller pays | Buyer pays |
|---|---|---|
| Cattle (commercial) | $5.00 / head | $0 |
| Sheep & goats | $0.40 / head | $0 |
| Stud & genetics | $12 / head cattle · $6 / head sheep | $0 |
| Machinery & general | 1.5% of the sale price · $50 min | $0 |
Livestock is charged per head that sells; machinery and general lots are a percentage of the hammer price. Passed-in or unsold lots cost nothing.

How it works
You get an invoice after a sale, nothing before
- 1Your auction ends. If it sells (a winning bid at or above your reserve), we work out the fee from the table above.
- 2We email you a GST tax invoice for the fee. That's the only money O.N.O Rural asks you for.
- 3The buyer pays you directly for the stock or gear, off the platform, the way you both agree. O.N.O Rural never holds or handles your sale money.
No on-platform payments. O.N.O Rural is a place to meet buyers and sellers, not a payment service. We don't take a cut of your sale, hold it in escrow, or process it. The sale price is 100% between you and the other party. The only thing we invoice is our own success fee.
How we compare
Lower seller fees than the published rates of comparable platforms
Based on those platforms' publicly published rates, as at 12 July 2026. Rates are set by third parties and can change. Comparison is of the platform fee only, excluding any separate stock or machinery agent's commission and third-party levies.
| Platform (published rates) | Seller | Buyer premium |
|---|---|---|
| O.N.O Rural | Cattle $5.00/hd · machinery 1.5% | $0 |
| StockLive | Cattle $6.50–7.80/hd | $0 |
| AuctionsPlus | Cattle $8.55–9.95/hd · machinery 2–3.5% | $0 livestock |
| Machinery buyer-premium platforms | varies | ~8.5%–20% |
All fees are exclusive of GST; GST is added at 10% and a valid tax invoice is issued with every fee. O.N.O Rural, ABN 79 298 930 437.
Questions
Fees, answered
What does it cost to list?
Nothing. Listings, rural jobs and rural property are free to post, and browsing, making an offer and messaging a seller are all free. The only fee we charge is a seller success fee on an auction that sells.
Do buyers pay anything?
No. Buyers pay $0 to O.N.O Rural, on auctions and everywhere else. There is no buyer premium. Your winning bid is the price you pay the seller.
When is the auction fee charged?
Only when your auction sells, meaning a winning bid at or above your reserve. If the lot passes in or doesn't sell, there is no fee. We invoice the fee to you after the auction ends.
How do I pay the fee?
We email you a GST tax invoice after the sale. You pay it by the method on the invoice. The sale money itself is paid directly between you and the buyer, off the platform. O.N.O Rural never holds or handles your sale proceeds.
Is the stock agent's commission included?
No. If you choose to use a stock or machinery agent, their commission is a separate arrangement between you and them. Our fee is only the platform success fee shown above.
Ready when you are
