We’re seeking a Cattle Veterinarian Assistant to join our on-farm veterinary team — helping with blood testing, animal identification scanning, and general cattle work across multiple properties. The role suits someone with hands-on cattle experience, who enjoys working outdoors and traveling to rural locations.
Assist veterinarians with on-farm blood testing and sampling Operate electronic ID (EID) scanners and record animal data Support yard work, drafting, and cattle handling safely and efficiently Help manage animal flow during testing and vaccination sessions Maintain accurate health and traceability records Travel between farms and regional work sites as required
All travel and on-site expenses covered where applicable Work alongside experienced large-animal veterinarians Excellent exposure to practical livestock health operations
Confident handling cattle and working in yard environments Physically fit and reliable with good communication skills Strong attention to detail and record keeping Holds a current driver’s licence Previous cattle, veterinary, or livestock industry experience preferred
